Jhep partnered with another NGO – Paoolwat Foundation, based in Pasali, Velhe Taluka, Pune District. Through this partnership, Jhep continued to support and develop market connections for paper/bamboo craft items and processed food items prepared by the women of Pasali and surrounding villages. This will be an ongoing project in collaboration with Paoolwat.
Throughout 2020, Jhep developed a partnership with an NGO – Sampoorna Bamboo Kendra located in Melghat area of Maharashtra. Through this partnership, Jhep and Paoolwat jointly organized a Bamboo Craft Training program for highschool students and women of Pasali and surrounding villages. This training was conducted for two full weeks and the participants benefited significantly. Through this training, the participants acquired skills that would essentially enable them to earn a living through home-based bamboo craft activities. Domestic and international connections to market these hand-crafted bamboo products will continue to be established.
